(Cooking with vinegar in a crock pot)

Tuna Barbecue

12 oz can tuna, drained
2 cups tomato juice (If too dry, add additional 1/2 cup)
1 green pepper, chopped
1 small onion, minced
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
3 Tbsp vinegar
2 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp prepared mustard
1 stalk celery, finely chopped
dash each of chili powder and hot sauce
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Combine all ingredients in crock pot. Cover and cook on Low 6-8 hours or High 3-4 hours.

Serve on buns.

Harvard Beets

1/2 cup sugar
2 Tablespoons flour
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup white vinegar
2-16 oz cans of whole or sliced beets, drained.

Combine sugar and flour and then stir in water and vinegar.

Place beets in crock pot and pour sugar-vinegar mixture over and stir.

Cover and cook on High for 3-4 hours.
