Sauerkraut Relish

Try this for a new and different hot dog topping.

Recipe for Sauerkraut Relish

1-16 ounce can sauerkraut, drained well
1 cup chopped sweet onion
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1 small jar pimientos, drained and chopped
1 cup sugar
1 cup cider vinegar

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix lightly. Store in a covered container in refrigerator at least 24 hours before serving. Makes about 1 qt.

Corn-Relish

A tasty summer side dish when corn is fresh and plentiful!

Recipe for Corn-Relish

5 ears of fresh corn
1 large of each: green pepper, red pepper, onion
1/4 head of cabbage
1 cup sugar
1/2 TB each: dry mustard, celery seed, salt
1/4 TB tumeric
1-1/2 cup vinegar
1/4 cup water

Cut corn off cob. Cut up peppers, onion, and cabbage. Combine all ingredients and cook for 20 minutes.
